I've had some lovely messages and emails sent to in the last few months from readers asking for an update on when they may see the sequel to Heartman hit the shelves. The publication of Heartman last July was a wonderful experience and we were lucky to get some amazing reviews.
More importantly was how readers went on to genuinely embrace my Bajan detective, Joseph Tremaine Ellington. I've made no bones about the fact that I saw Heartman as the first of a trilogy and now that... book two is almost in the bag, my original idea to tell Ellington's story over three novels appears to be panning out just as I'd planned. Heartman's follow up All Through The Night is everything I'd wished it would be and I hope that readers will be both pleased with J.T's return and the tale I've created. During the early part of this Summer I'll start work on The Restless Coffins, the third and final part of the Ellington's story. I'll be offering up more news on that in the months to come. For those of you that would like to delve a little deeper into book two, a synopsis of All Through The Night can be found below.
Cheers M P
All Through The Night - M P Wright.
Bristol, Summer 1966...Struggling to make ends meet, private detective Joseph Tremaine Ellington sees a way to make some easy cash when approached by Ida Stephens, the administrator of a local orphanage. She offers him GBP 500 to locate a disgraced Jamaican GP, Dr. Ronald Fowler. Fowler has in his possession a number of potentially damaging files regarding deceased young children who had been living at the orphanage. Ida tells Ellington to track him down by any means necessary, retrieve the files and ask an important question: Where is the truth to be found? But Ellington has underestimated his assignment. He quickly finds himself up to his neck and running for his life, in a world where nothing is as it appears and the truth is beyond his imagination...
