Scary Times... First Online Review For Heartman

I've stayed away from the lap top over the Easter holidays. When you spend your working day sat in front of a computer writing for a living the chance to break free of the 'keys' is very rare. I have started to cherish my bank holidays.I was woken early yesterday morning by our younger Rottie, Dylan who was yapping away by the living room door calling for his breakfast. After grumbling to myself at the ungodly hour that I was leaving my bed, I slouched downstairs resembling the Gruffalo, fed the mutt, moaned at BBC Breakfast news and in a fit of unexpected senselessness leaned across to the PC and switch it on.

Even as I was pushing the 'on' button a little voicing in my head was whispering to me "leave it alone Mark!". Did I heed my inner selfs voice of reason? Of course not. So, sat in semi darkness, both our dogs now fast asleep again and snoring for England, I sipped at my Twinings 'Everyday' tea and took a peek at my emails. On seeing that there was a message informing me of an online review for Heartman I was hit with an urgent desire to just switch off the computer and go back to bed. shaking like a leaf, I left the 'off' button alone and clicked onto the email.

Heartman is currently out for 'review' with a fair number of magazines and online journals & bloggers. Yesterday saw the first review. I wanted to share the link below with you should anyone wish to dip in and have a gander at what's been said about the book. I have to say, I'm pretty bloom'in chuffed and I know the guys at Black & White, my publishers are to.

It wasn't until 6.30am yesterday morning that I had really thought in any depth about reviews for Heartman. I have to say I felt physically ill before scrolling down the page and reading the reviewers comments. I know not all reviews can be good, but for now, I'll settle with the kind words written in the link below.

And guess what. After reading the review... I shed just a little tear into my tea mug. Well, I had been woken up at the crack of dawn by the dog. And if a man can't cry at being dragged out of his bed before 7am by a hungry Rottweiler whining for it breakfast on a Bank Holiday Monday, I ask you, what can he cry at?

Cheers
